11/4 Fall Foraging: Nuts & Roots
The bounty of nature doesn’t end with summer! Explore the many useful roots, berries, bark, and nuts all around you during fall in the Illinois Valley. Learn basic botany and gain confidence in plant identification skills, and get to know medicinal, edible and otherwise usable plants in the field. We’ll ethically harvest several local ingredients, and then return to make a warm drink, bay nut “chocolates”, and an acorn treat.
Field day is easy (car travel with short stops, up to 1 mile of hiking)
Ages 12+ welcome.
