10/29 Meet the Trees in Autumn
Learn how to use all of your senses to identify trees by their bark and leaves, as well as the seeds, nuts and fruit that offer new clues for identification at the end of the growing season. We’ll also introduce interesting stories about many trees’ history, ecology, and uses. Rogue Community College’s Redwood Campus is a treasure trove of tree varieties, both native to Southern Oregon and from around the world, and beautiful autumn color is a reliable feature. Rachel was one of the developers of the arboretum walk and will be your tour guide.
Field day is easy (up to 1 mile of easy-going walking; the RCC arboretum offers paved walkways, as well as places to sit and accessible restrooms)
All ages welcome.
