Learn how to safely identify and harvest local mushrooms! Discover key characteristics of typical species and acquire skill in differentiating the poisonous and inedible from the edible types, and enjoy expert field guidance and identification from our instructor on a trip to common fungi fruiting spots in forests of the Southern Cascades.
*Please note this class is focused on education and identification, and does not guarantee a mushroom harvest. As with all field courses, type and abundance of species observed will vary based on current conditions.
*Field hike is moderately difficult (hiking 1+ miles over uneven terrain/through forest debris, but no significant elevation gain)
Ages 12+ are welcome.
