06/21 & 24 Botanical Marvels of Mount Eddy
Be enchanted by Mt. Eddy’s dazzling botanical treasures while hiking to its summit (at 9,037 feet, the highest peak in the Klamaths). This serpentine habitat is home to an extraordinary number of wildflowers including some found nowhere else in the world, such as Mt. Eddy skypilot, and oddballs like California pitcherplants, as well as beautiful, subalpine lakes and meadows. Get to know the area and its botanical inhabitants in a virtual introduction prior to Saturday’s hike in the field.
*Field day is Strenuous (~12 miles round trip with 2,400 foot gain in elevation).
Ages 16+ welcome.
