Klamath Botanical Wonders: Plants, History & Conservation with Tyler Rogers
Join us on October 5th for another FREE community educational seminar with Tyler Rogers. Mr. Roger’s is a local naturalist and a wealth of knowledge on the endemic plants in the Klamath-Siskiyou region.
This presentation will showcase many native plants endemic to the Klamath bioregion, and how they evolved. We will also cover the natural and colonial history behind the region; discussing the formation and colonization of these lands. Most importantly we will discuss the current threats our public lands face, and the ways we can speak up for them.
Volunteer Work Party
Fen Exploration and Trail Maintenance
On October 13th from 9 AM to 12 PM we will be hosting our monthly Volunteer Work Party. The VWP this month will be focused on seeding native seeds. We have lots of seeds saved from our Native Seed course as well as from SFI staff collecting them throughout the season. Once the seeds are grown into seedlings and young plants, we hope to plant them in our restoration areas. Join us for seeding these natives into flats and hopefully learn a little more about the flora of this region.
Please register below and come prepared with comfortable work clothing, gloves if you have them and your water bottle. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
