Edible Mushrooms of the Southern Cascades
Instructor: Mike Potts
Date: Saturday, October 21, 2017
Location: Meet in North Medford to carpool
Learn how to safely identify and enjoy the fall-fruiting mushrooms that flourish in the volcanic soils and coniferous forests of southern Oregon’s Cascade region. We’ll meet at the North Medford Fred Meyer to arrange carpools, and then stop for an overview of locally found mushroom species: edible, non-edible and toxic along the highway. Somewhere in the Rogue River area, we’ll search for and identify the mushrooms we find in the field.
