Outdoor Challenge Course
Our outdoor challenge course provides your group with an experientially engaging way to develop communication skills while completing physical challenges. Under the direction of trained facilitators, participants will be guided to work as a team as they encourage one another and overcome obstacles on low and high rope elements. Facilitators will also guide participants to reflect on how their experience on the challenge course can apply to real-life situations.
Reservations are required:
For more information or to schedule a group, please contact our Youth Programs Coordinator at email@example.com or call 541-597-8530.
Low Ropes Challenge Course: These elements are a few feet off the ground and are valuable for teaching teamwork and cooperation. For our Youth Education Programs, metaphors are used to solidify scientific concepts for kinesthetic learners enabling them to physically act out natural phenomena such as carnivorous plant anatomy, salmon life cycle, or bird migrations.
No age requirement for participants. Young children must be accompanied by an adult.
General Public Fee: $25/participant
School Group Fees: $10/participant (Can be added to any day program and is included in all overnight programs and summer camps.)
High Ropes Elements: Our “staple climb”, “cat walk”, and “giant swing” are high up in our sturdy old-growth incense cedars and Douglas-firs. Participants are secured by skilled facilitators in ropes, harnesses, and helmets on these high elements which can produce powerful memories and provoke deep thoughts and emotions, while challenging physical abilities. The degree of difficulty (mental, physical, and emotional) found within the element is dependent upon the level at which each person challenges themselves. Participants set their own goals on each element and facilitators encourage the group to support one another in their challenges by choice. Participants will find themselves literally leaping beyond the barriers of perceived limits. These activities are designed to train participants to conquer real-life challenges with a deeper understanding of how to cope and triumph over a diversity or difficulty.
Age Requirement: 5th grade and up
Regular Fee: $50/participant
Discounted Fee for School Groups: $25/participant (Can be a stand-along Youth Program and is included in Siskiyou Outdoor School programs and the Middle School Outdoor Adventure Camp)
