Sixth Grade - Watersheds Program
Watersheds: Through the Mountain and to the Valley
In partnership with Oregon Caves National Monument (OCNM)
Offered in Spring and Fall 2013
Fee: Free to school groups
This program gives students a hands-on opportunity to investigate the Illinois Valley watershed. In this
curriculum-based class linked to Oregon state standards, students will compare and contrast
Oregon Cave National Monument (Cave Creek) and Deer Creek Center (Deer Creek) watersheds.
They'll examine topography, geology and waterways at each site during field trips. A SFI Youth
Education Instructor and OCNM Ranger will make classroom visits to prepare students for educational fun in the field.
