Stay on-site while you explore the rugged and beautiful IllinoisValley and Siskiyou Mountains!
SFI's facilities at the Deer Creek Center are available for rent year-round. Whether you’re looking for a place to stay while you explore the hiking trails and wild rivers of the Klamath-Siskiyous, a home base for your research project, a location for your next business retreat, or a place to host a special event – SFI has a lot to offer! Our 850-acre property is situated at the gateway to the Illinois River Canyon – nestled up against the Siskiyou Mountains and overlooking the beautiful Deer Creek Valley.

Lodging accommodations include camping, group yurts, dorm rooms, and private rooms. Kendeda House features a hostel-style kitchen, great room and indoor classroom for weddings, reunions, retreats, conferences and weekend getaways.*
Outdoor features also include a state-of-the-art solar bathhouse and a covered picnic pavilion.
*SFI members and students in our field courses receive a 10% discount. How to reserve:
Stay in one of our two spacious yurts. One is heated and cooled and it's comfortable year round; the other is naturally air cooled and located near Deer Creek. Just bring your sleeping bag, personal items (including towels) and food. Use of the solar powered bathhouse, complete with showers, is included.
Camping $15 per campsite, price for double-occupancy.
Additional campers at a single site - $5 each per night
Camp out under the beautiful stars of the Illinois Valley at Deer Creek Center. Bring your own camping gear. If you plan to cook, bring all your own tent, sleeping bag, cook stove and food. Use of the solar powered bathhouse, complete with showers, is included.

Siskiyou Field Institute’s offices are located in the historic Kendeda House, which also boasts a large classroom, three private bedrooms, a dorm room that sleeps six, a fully stocked kitchen, a spacious great room and a covered porch overlooking the valley and the mountains beyond.
