Do you know how to read the sky? Why weather watchers rely on the Farmer’s Almanac as well as the Weather Cafe and NOAA website? Learn which weather lore is reliable and how to put it to use in your daily life. In this beginner’s guide to meteorology, you’ll find out how to identify what’s in the air, including clouds, and how the earth’s mountains, oceans and ice layers affect weather patterns.

In an afternoon workshop following this course, we’ll  learn about writing weathergrams, nature-related poetic messages written on brown paper and hung outdoors to “weather."
