You, too, can learn how to be an accurate weather forecaster. We will learn the basics of meteorology and natural forces and topography affecting the weather. In a field trip at the Illinois Valley Airport, our instructors will set up observational equipment so that students can practice weather watching. We'll also address how weather forecasters work with firefighters and equip them with weather kits during wildfire season.
In the afternoon workshop following this course, we’ll learn about writing weathergrams, nature-related poetic messages written on brown paper and hung outdoors to “weather."
