We’re offering 22 new courses! And if you’re enrolled in our Naturalist Certificate program, many of our classes can be applied as credit.
A new course category, Adventure Learning. Bird from a bicycle, learn all about river or lake ecology while on the water, look for mammal tracks while snowshoeing. The season of adventure begins with “Smith River Watershed Journey: From Headwaters to Estuary” the weekend of June 28-29.
Expanded professional learning – Seven technical courses will be offered, conveniently scheduled on weekdays
Weekend in the Redwoods - Mark your calendar for June 1-2 and spend the weekend learning in an awesome outdoor classroom – Redwood National Park. “Bald Hills Rd. Flora: From Redwoods to Prairie” runs June 1 during peak wildflower time. On June 2nd, explore the redwood forest and learn about its ecology and National Park Service restoration efforts in “Upstairs and Downstairs in a Redwood Forest.”
Spanning the bioregion – Our classes explore the biodiversity of the Klamath-Siskiyous, from serpentine to slough, from bog to lava beds. This year you’ll have opportunities to botanize at Crater Lake, hike to ancient conifers on the Pacific Crest Trail, and raft down the South Fork of the Smith River.
