SFI has scholarships available to Jackson County educators
Selma, OR – Siskiyou Field Institute has a special scholarship opportunity for Jackson County educators, thanks to a generous donation from the Rogue Valley Audubon Society. “We’re really excited to be able to offer these scholarships. They’ll give local educators an opportunity to get out into the field, be inspired by what they learn, and then bring their renewed enthusiasm back to the classroom to share with their students” says Siskiyou Field Institute Program Coordinator Karen Phillips.
Who is eligible to receive these scholarships? Any Jackson County educator; including teachers, student teachers, classroom assistants and nonprofit staff involved in outdoor/natural history education. The only requirement for scholarship awardees is that they report back to Rogue Valley Audubon Society on their experience in the class, either by writing an article for their newsletter, The Chat, or by giving a brief presentation at one of Rogue Valley Audubon Society’s monthly meetings.
To apply for a scholarship, contact Karen Phillips, Siskiyou Field Institute’s Program Coordinator, at (541) 597-8530 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information about Siskiyou Field Institute’s 2012 field season, visit www.thesfi.org.
